Gothic Literature

A stone corridor deep within an ancient castle, its arched ceiling supported by ribbed vaults, photographed as though discovered by candlelight. The walls are slick with age and faintly glisten, lined with empty iron sconces and a few cracked, unreadable plaques. At the far end, a heavy oak door stands ajar, revealing only a sliver of pitch-black space beyond. A stray shaft of moonlight falls through a narrow slit window, dust motes swirling in the beam like tiny ghosts. Photographic realism, captured from a low, centered perspective to emphasize depth and the sense of creeping forward into the strange and unknown.
